A little of history

At the beginning of 1997, while I was beginning a diving world tour, I was stopped in Martinique. I did not know this island was going to kidnap me, and I just needed a little time to realize that it was there, I was going to set up my camp. A few months were enough to gather boat, equipments, commercial facilities and administrative authorizations to open the doors of my first diving center, the outcome of a dream which was finally going to allow me to share my underwater life.

I do not know if owe it is madness which allowed me to carry out this project in such a speed, in a passion or simply in the evidence, but what I remember is that I was pressed by the administrative statements, and I still had to find the name of the future center before its opening. The events took place in such a speed, I was still wondering if the first day the boat would not have left whitout me if I had not been on board.

And so Sainte-Luce Plongée, was born, and if I dared, I would say that I did not see it coming.

The bet was audacious. Five instructors, were employed full time from the first day of the opening. It was frankly the case to be frigthened but I did not have the time for that.

Finally, the continuation of adventurehas never left me enough respie to perceive that I had just created what was going to become one of the biggest achievements of my life.

Every year, the company saw itself endowed with a new boat. Not systematically bigger, but increasing the capacity, always answering to more precise needs. I was still persuaded that my second passion, architecture and ship building help me to choose a management which involved a perpetual growth.

And then, there is also the Club Med, the immediate neighbour, which by observing our evolution and our methods of work, decided only three years after we opening Sainte-Luce Plongee , to implante us in their own center. This new center would take the name of Boucaniers Plongée.

If the idea that Club Med wanted to disengage themselves from this activity could come to minds, it was then without counting on the methods and the concepts widely tried by Sainte-Luce plongée. The activity did not stop growing there in the best conditions.

It is doubtless the reason why the USA’s Club Med’s direction decided to entrust me with a consultant’s role. This new function intended me to carry out for americans and caribbeans clusters some diving audits about the general functioning of the activity. This enriching activity in every respect allowed me to discover; to arrest and to analyze various surrounding areas of the profession which proved very enriching for the elaboration of my concepts.

It is incowing and always pushing walls away that the last diving center was borm, Marin Plongée, which as its name indicates is situated in the hearth of Marin’s city’s port, close to his two elder brothers.

Among these three different diving centers, olny their names differ, all three have been built on the same concept, because they work.
